End of the Week – August 27th, 2011

Another good week of online content. Seems like classical guitarist’s are getting online and sharing content more and more. I spent the week cleaning up the web server and tweaking the site design so I wouldn’t have to do that during the upcoming school year. Other than that, this weekend I plan to add a ton of albums to the Canadian recordings section of the site.

It’s so beautiful in Victoria so friends and I are having a BBQ and very likely playing music into the wee hours of the night…My girlfriend just got a cool antique pump organ and Michael Dias and I found a work for two guitars and harmonium so that might be a highlight out on my lawn.

The Week in classical guitar links:

  • There is an open house at the Vancouver VSO school, head down there today for a demo lesson with Daniel Bolshoy
  • Some nice photos on facebook from the Hamilton International Guitar Festival 2011
  • A worrisome article: Environmental Enforcement Leaves Musicians in Fear – bringing instruments accross boarders could get more difficult
  • A neat video: What is up with Noises? (The Science and Mathematics of Sound, Frequency, and Pitch) via The Guitar Society of Toronto facebook
  • A free mp3 of David Russell but you have to give them your email address.
