Update: Camp Musicale des Laurentides 2011

Chers amateurs de guitare classique et flamenco,

C’est avec plaisir que nous vous annonçons les toutes dernières nouvelles concernant le camp musical des Laurentides qui aura lieu du 14 au 21 Août 2011.

En plus des changements déjà annoncés dans un courriel plus tôt cette année, cet été nous aurons 3 ou 4 professeurs assistants. Il y aura des concerts tous les soirs de la semaine et une prestation spéciale le vendredi soir par le guitariste flamenco Ruben Diaz (accompagné par un autre guitariste et un percussionniste).

Samedi matin monsieur Diaz nous parlera de la technique Paco DeLucia .

Voici un bref résumé des concerts prévus pour 20h00

Lundi : Patrick Kearney et Jeffrey McFadden en concert
Mardi : Un des gagnants du concours de la Société de Guitare de Montréal suivi d’un concert par un des assistants professeurs.
Mercredi : Un des gagnants du concours de la Société de Guitare de Montréal suivi d’un concert par un des assistants professeurs.
Jeudi : Un des gagnants du concours de la Société de Guitare de Montréal suivi d’un concert par un des assistants professeurs.
Vendredi : Concert du guitariste flamenco Ruben Diaz.
Samedi : Récital des étudiants du niveau supérieur.
Dimanche après-midi : Récital des étudiants avec l’Orchestre de guitare du Camp Musical des Laurentides.

Dear classical (and flamenco!) guitar enthusiasts,

Some exciting news and changes in regards to the summer guitar session at the Camp Musicale des Laurentides, held from August 14th to the 21st, 2011.

Along with changes listed in a previous email this year we will be joined by 3 or 4 assistant teachers, there will be concerts every night and a Special Guest performance by flamenco guitarist Ruben Diaz (accompanied by another guitarist and percussionist) on the Friday night. Saturday morning Mr. Diaz will be offering a lecture on the Paco DeLucia technique of flamenco guitar playing.

Remember there is a discount for early registration!

Here is a brief outline of the 8pm evening concerts:

Monday Night: Faculty Concert: Patrick Kearney / Jeffrey McFadden
Tuesday Night: One of the Guitar Montreal SGM Youth competition winners followed by a recital from one of the camp assistants.
Wednesday Night: One of the Guitar Montreal SGM Youth competition winners followed by a recital from one of the camp assistants.
Thursday Night: One of the Guitar Montreal SGM Youth competition winners followed by a recital from one of the camp assistants.
Friday Night: Special Guest Performance, Ruben Diaz.
Saturday Night: Advanced Student Recital
Sunday Afternoon: Student Recital along with the CML Guitar Orchestra.
