Classical guitar is in the Ottawa Citizen this week as Guitar Alla Grande Festival is gearing up. For info on the festival go to: Guitar Alla Grande Festival 2011.
There will be guitar master classes, guitar displays and five guitar concerts, including a performance by star Brazilian guitarist Odair Assad and a closing concert that will include a 50-guitar ensemble. It’s all happening as part of the Guitar Alla Grande Festival, presented today through Sunday at several Ottawa-area venues. Admission to many events is free.
Presented by organizations that include the Conservatoire de musique de Gatineau and the Ottawa Guitar Society, the annual festival started in 2006 as a weekend event based around the visit of a prominent guest artist who would perform a concert and also offer a master class for Ottawa-area student guitar players.
