Matthew G. Hinsley – A New Book and Some Special Workshops

Matthew Hinsley is becoming one of the great organizers and educators in North America, check out this message and his new book. Thanks Janet for forwarding this.

Dear Friends,

I wanted to let you know that between now and the end of January Lulu.com is offering my new book, Creativity to Community: Arts Nonprofit Success One Coffee at a Time, for 20% off – both as a download and in hardcover!

Here’s the link!

I have been simply overjoyed at the response to the book. It seems that every day I’m talking to someone new, in a different part of the world, who has new ideas for developing arts programming – and building support for it – in their area.

I’m pleased to announce that I’ll be giving talks and workshops on community arts advocacy several times this spring. For those of you in the northeast, I’ll be in Boston – hosted by Eliot Fisk, Zaira Meneses and David Patterson – on February 17th and 18th. And for those of you on the west coast, on April 16th and 17th I’ll be in Sacramento hosted by Daniel Roest, Steve Roberts and friends at the Sacramento and South Bay Classical Guitar Societies. In both cases I’ll be giving in-depth workshops on everything from Mission and Vision, to Board Development, PR & Marketing, and Fundraising for community-based nonprofits. Email me if you’d like to come, it would be great to see friends! The California event now has a dedicated web page here.

With thanks, and best wishes to everyone for 2011,

Matt
