Duo Verdejo plays John Cage, Jan Jarvlepp, and Eric Schwartz

Onward with the West Coast Week! I just attended the Duo Verdejo Concert last weekend. This concert the audience had the treat of hearing electric guitar and viola works. Duo Verdejo delivered one of the most exciting and provoking guitar concerts of 2010! Here they play  John Cage, Jan Jarvlepp, and Eric Schwartz.  Guitarist Adrian Verdejo and joined by Megan Verdejo on viola.

I heard this duo at the 2010 Northwest Guitar Festival and in other performances. They are a tight, well-rehearsed duo blending technical virtuosity with solid and interesting musical concepts. In everything ranging from French baroque, early Beethoven, vanguard new repertoire, and the exiting sound of viola and electric guitar, this duo is poised to be on of the most natural and effective duo teams in the country and true champions of new music. Bravo.
